The PoliticalCripple is a site to help disabled people exercise their rights to be directly involved in Politics - and to have their voices heard by Politicians.
The Lucifer Effect – the emerging world of The Netopath, the Sociopath on the Internet.
Since everyone simply assumes that conscience is universal among human beings, hiding the fact that you are conscience-free is nearly effortless. You are not held back from any of your desires by guilt or shame, and you are never confronted by others for your cold-bloodedness. The ice water in your veins is so bizarre, so completely outside of their personal experience that they seldom even guess at your condition.

The Right To Be Abused?

Baroness Jane Campbell said in the House Of Lords;
“… (Disabled people) … are like society’s ‘canaries in the coalmine’”
That reminds me of the Book “Now I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” by Dr Maya Angelou.
It seems that we need some Canaries to be doing some singing – and loudly so that by the end of the 21st century that abuse that Disabled People are subjected to here in the UK is at an end!
It's quite shocking when it comes to light that a Disabled Person is being abused. There is still that saintly thing going on – Disabled people are supposedly to be treated with Kindness, care, love and looked after – for their own good.
The problem is those closed doors – the Front Doors Of Houses, the front doors of Institutions, the doors to private rooms. What goes on behind them can be ever so shocking.

CHARITIES ADMIT DEFEAT
CHARITIES ADMIT DEFEAT
We (Benefits and Work) have received a copy of an email which a campaigner says came from the charity ASBAH (Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus) in response to his concerns about the care green paper. The email appears to admit defeat in the fight to save DLA and AA:
“. . .ASBAH, in line with many other larger bodies is of the view that these proposals have already gathered too much momentum to be reversed and that major changes are inevitable. . . it is vital within any alternative system that people retain elements within their budgets where they can exercise choice in how they spend that money. Although we have not adopted a position where we are fighting to save DLA and AA we would fight to see this element of choice protected and would resist any attempt to convert all support to 'in kind'.”

Why I Dissociated Myself From Disabled Pride Ltd
I have been asked to explain why I dissociated myself from Disabled Pride Ltd, and If I could provide valid reasons for doing so.
In answer to this I am making public my correspondence with Tessa Wilson - chief executive and owner of Disabled Pride Ltd so that others may be fully aware of the concerns that made it an absolute requirement for me to have no further links.
This is further to me withdrawing on 14 October 2009 - after having been asked as of 28 Sept 2009 to consider becoming a Director of Disabled Pride Ltd.
I was obliged to withdraw as of 14 October for a number of reasons concerning the operation of Disabled Pride Ltd - and I was never a director or employee of that company. I had been working towards the goal of having Disabled Pride a viable entity with events, sponsors and opportunity. I received no payment for this and all costs incurred have been met from my personal finances. I have never been offered any payment or remuneration for any work done - or the expertise that I used in the work I did free of charge.
I am obliged to ensure the names of certain people and certain facts relating to them, not directly linked to the issues, are kept private.

Minister Dashing In Front Of Camera
No Comment and we decline an interview on Monday - and a Minister, No less, is dashing in front of a camera the next day!
We did it, we officially launched ourselves on 25 August 2009 in Lemon Quay, Truro, Corwall when Politicalcripple.com came to town.
A determined bunch of protesters gathered to raise awareness of the petition, some disabled people, some carers, and others interested in our campaign, along with Julia Goldsworthy MP.
We generated interest and questions from passers by, who then promised to spread the words for us.
